Anglers generally find the best fishing two hours before and after a high tide, but fish and other animals also become active around the time of low tide. Beginners should remember they are banned from fishing for black rockfish, lingcod, greenling and cabezon, leaving surfperch and a few other species open. Chinook angling remains open and catches have been fair to good out of Brookings.
